The Band

Doug McLeanDoug McLean - Bass Guitar, Song Writer

Doug's goal is to continue to write as many songs as possible. Doug believes that "musical compositions are like a flowing river, all you need to do is to go down to the river with the right bucket, imagination at the right place and time, bring out flowing rimes that remain in time..."

Doug was born and raised in El Paso Texas. He owned his first guitar while in 8th grade. During High School, he started jammin' and later played bass with several bands in El Paso. Among those were Pegasus, and Texas State Line. Doug musical influences include: Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Jimmy Hendricks, Steve Ray Vaughn, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, T Bone Walker, BB King, Albert King, and Albert Collins.

Doug studied bass guitar with Rob Roeder at the Austin Guitar School, in Austin, Texas, and also took lessons from Ted Hall (the Austin Guitar School owner, and lead guitar player for the Pleasure Cats). Doug has played and continues to play, as much as possible, at the Austin Guitar School Sunday night Blues Jam at Gino's Italian Bar and Grill in South Austin.

Doug & Pati McLeanDoug met Pati in 1996, and invited her to join him at the Blues Jam one night. Their passion for performing and expressing the Blues brought them together. Soon, Randy, Dave and Joe joined them; they shared their talents, and very much enjoyed playing together at the Blues Jam on Sunday nights. That's when the fire broke! They decided to form a band called Blue Flame, that later, in 1999, changed its name to Pati McLean and Crash! Bam! Boom!
